Cat tails and water
Posted By: skinja, 04-05-2009, 02:46 AM

You know if I'm not careful

I might actually learn something.

My high school teachers

Would be absolutely amazed.

Not at the pictures... Just that I could learn.

Can't wait for the day when I can return as much as I receive from this group.

Thanks,

John

Magnificent paints! Especially I like the first photo, as painting, very beautifully!

Not sure painting was the affect I was looking for. I do appreciate the compliment.

As always CC is needed

Thanks, John

Help

Lots of people have looked but only one comment. Did I make these look to much like a picture of some paintings?

Here is a copy of the original shot Raw.

And here is a copy of the final, this is all in Lightroom 2

What's your opinion? Over sharpened? to much saturation? Your help would be appreciated.

John

I think it's a nice series. I like the second one of the 2 catails myself. I don't think it's over done.

Yes, you are learning. A fairly good series. I like No-2 and 4.

John, it is a nice image. If it were mine I would go somewhere in the middle of the two. The upper left sky is a little dark for my taste plus Iwould take a little red out.

But what I miss most of all is a Red Winged Blackbird on one of the cattails. :-)

Shooting the image is only half the battle

Thanks Heinrich, here is the same photo with the changes you recommended, I have to agree with you, the black bird would have been incredible.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Thanks Dave,

Some days are easier then others. I sure love this hobby, so much to learn so little time to do it in. If I would have started at birth I could be a lot further along then I am now, I've got a lot of catching up to do.

If you see something I did and don't like it feel free to set me straight.

John
