Pentaxium overload
Posted By: rparmar, 04-09-2009, 08:36 AM

I had no real plans for this last Pentaxium and had lots of practical things to do that day. So no dedicated excursion. Instead, I just took photos much as I normally do. I didn't hold myself to any one style or approach. For fun I decide to use just three prime lenses, a classic 28 / 50 / 105mm combination. And yes, all manual focus!

I have upped my limit of three to the dedicated forum, so here will share more.

These two are with the Vivitar 28mm/2 K01.

Robin, this is a wonderfully eclectic series. I really love the first B&W picture of the four beer barrels and the onion shot. Great job.

Excellent series - that advantage of not having one style is all styles are open very well done.

What a bunch of excellent images! I like them all! The onion skin one particularly intrigues me because I sense that there might have been a stronger composition for the particular lighting. The problem is, I can't figure out just what that might be! I guess a will have to pull out an onion and give it a try!

Better make it a garlic bulb or that'd be cheating.

Also, maybe it would help to know that the light was a flashlight (aka torch) held between my legs in the dark at 11:59pm. I was trying to grab a last few shots before the day ended, using whatever was in my kitchen.

Beat that!

Ha! Ha! Ha!

I have a torch (flashlight) that will do the job and a red wood tabletop similar to whatever the onion is sitting on! Now, all I have to do is to wait until 11:59 tonight...

Stellar images with such a range. Wonderful texture in every single image in deed. The mood are very unique in themselves

Yeah!!!

That is great. Did something like that with my amaryllis series a while back... This particular photo and them all in general are inspiring! Just got my m42 converter (yes an official pentax) and going to bust out some moves after doing enough school work to merit a break)

Cool! Share your stuff here. It feels good to get some energy going amongst fellow forum members for actually getting out there and taking photos.

Hey, I am all about sharing. There may be a few useful articles over on my blog, particularly Your Photos -- From Washed Out To Punchy and its follow-up. but generally others are better teachers than I am in this field.

I definitely think that all decent photographers need to master PP, just like we all needed to master development in the days of film (as some still do).

I don't think I have any special skills except a restless imagination and a particular eye. Maybe I should point out which of the above shots I think are kinda crap?
