Black swans and a duck - my first bird pictures

Nice efforts there Richard, great detail on the duck.
If interested, I have a decent spot for water birds just behind Williamstown you might want to investigate.

Nice shots there, though they would benefit from a little sharpening. I notice one of the swans is numbered and banded. May I suggest you ring your State Museum ornithology department and ask if they know who's been banding in this area. They always appreciate sightings and the number on the neck and colour of the leg band here are easy to see.

We have here only the white species, that black one sure looks different, thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I would be interested in the Williamstown spot. This was Albert Park lake, BTW, next to Lakeside Drive near Albert Rd.

Thanks, Dave. She was very cooperative. She just stood there and let me get to about 2m without any sign of taking off.
