(Very) Fast action pictures

Hello,

Newbie here. I am by no means a pro, but I want to share some of my work with you. I've been a Pentax freak for years.
Only a few days after getting my Pentax K100D Super, it got its "baptism of fire" at the 2007 Petit LeMans race in Road Atlanta.
Whoever said Pentax were not good for very fast action photography never told me!

All these pics are with the K100D Super, kit's lens (DA18-55).

This particular shot is my favorite. I printed a 20x30 poster and it hangs proudly in my family room. The car is doing full speed there.

Canons and Nikons were hiding from the rain

great stuff, really like #2 and #1. Very well done... I too can't wait until/ if f1 comes back to the US; I'd love to go if it doesn't cost too much!

Nice work! Good to see motorsport shooters. I'll be going to a race at Laguna Seca next month so I can't wait to get some shots. I usually only attend one or two races a year but I'm planning to go to more this year

Hello,
The shutter speed was set depending on the conditions. It varied between 1/60 for the picture in the rain, pits and other slower action to 1/350 for the first pic since the car was going flat out. ISO was 200 at most of them pushed to 800 at night. I didn't get a chance to shoot at 1600 or 3200. If I can make it to this year's race I'll try more shooting at night.

Very fine sports cars and great shots thereof!

I'll be going to the ALMS in SLC in May. Maybe I'll get some as good as yours.
