My first atempt at Action Photography
Posted By: little laker, 04-13-2007, 09:21 PM

It was a really miserable day (I'm just a wimp, we only had a few flakes of snow and high winds) so I ran an errand. While I was in Pentiction, British Columbia, Canada I stopped to photograph the waves on the beach. As soon as I hopped in my car to leave this sailboarder headed out.

I got his permission to snap some pic's and these ones turned out pretty good considering the conditions (Plus I've never tried action photography until today)

It's been a really good week for me, today was day #4 in a row that I've managed to get several good pic's and I've got a commission for some outdoor family portraits tomorrow. I hope that the weather cooperates.

Excellent shots in terms of composition, however it seems there's little that makes it pop. Pop the contrast, or just bring up the black in levels and I guarantee you'll have some eye-poppin' pics!

Thanks SuperJared, That looks a lot better

I'll try a few tonight before bed and post the results.

I just used Picasa, ad clicked on I Feel Lucky (I'm a little too tired to try anything else tonight) They turned out pretty good considering it's the lazy way out.

Here's a few of them

I was using my new to me Sigma manual 28-84 for all them.
If you have a chance to get one I highly recommend it, it's almost hard to not have the picture in focus with it.

Never be afraid of a little PP, it will almost always make images better.
