There's nothing prettier this time of year than a drive up US 290 from Houston to Austin.

The Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes are a sight to behold.

Ah, but to be back in Texas

Ah, Eddy, US 290 is nothing! You have to go exploring to find the real treasures! These are all off of RR 2341 near Lake Buchanan. Yes, there's nothing like the Bluebonnets, Indian Blankets, Indian Paintbrushes, and Black-eyed Susans, not to mention the Purple Sage, Standing Cypress, and Poppies!

The last "highlight", or the last picture in the gallery?

How'd I miss that link? The last one of your highlights. I'm going to take a quick look through your site tomorrow night (3AM and got to hit the sack.)

Nice florals Matthew, we have precious few wild flowers out yet. A few flowering trees but the wild flowers are still hiding until it gets a bit above 50 degrees. And with all the cold rain we've had the last couple/three days it will be even longer.

Great shots, Matthew! I like then all, but the shot with the bluebonnets and the cactus is really nice. All of them are very sharp with great colors.

I really like that second shot of the pole, the wood tones are beautiful.

NaClH20, all the flowering trees are done here, its wildflower time! Bluebonnets, Black-eyed Susan, Indian Paintbrush, Indian Blanket, Poppies (Red and White), Daises of many colors, etc. et cetera.

rfortson, thanks! That was fun! I've become particularly attracted to backlighting ever since Lost Maples.

hanamai, contrast of the wood against the silver letters, all along a backdrop of beautiful blue bluebonnets, truly caught my eye.

Duh Vinci, they're not florals they're landscapes!
