Long Way from JIMBO Country
Posted By: Sailor, 04-21-2009, 01:52 PM

In contrast to the dramatic snow-capped mountains and clear streams of JIMBO's environs, the Texas Coastal Plain is flat and veined with muddy creeks, rivers and bayous. Still the area does - in some places - exhibit the almost lush, sort of gothic beauty of the deep South. Here are three shots, taken Sunday, from around Varner Creek in Brazoria County. These were made with my DA 10-17 FE, but - in an uncharacteristic fit of seriousness - I tried to find ways to de-emphasize the fisheye effect. What do you think?

Nice very green - I anm not sure I could tell any of them were from a fishsye, the last two I would have no idea. Fist one maybe.

I like the last one with the creek frocing the viewer down the entire picture. Well done - nice to see the green.

I just moved the camera up and down to where the FE look was minimized. Next time, I'll come to my senses and use it to full effect!

Thanks, Buddy - yeah it's time you aim that new K20D at a landscape or two.
