Posted By: vievetrick, 04-21-2009, 07:48 PM

I took advice from Daacon and a few others and snapped some people shots. Well the only willing subjects. Willing is maybe to strong a word LOLOL.

My daughter is going to be a great artist.

My son was a little willing when he saw the first preview

My niece had no choice LOLOL

LOLOLOL I had to

Freaky perspective, ain't it?
Can be an interesting portrait lens, but does tend to either work or not in certain applications.
This FE in particular is very sharp, and has beautiful colour contrast, which you'll find when you do your landscape/night captures...

ahhhhh another fisheye manic on the loose ! Great shots Pat that one of you is well just frigthening (I have several of me that are just as bad if not worse). It's a great lens and you can really get into people's personal space as the min focal lenght is totally in the uncomfortable zone.

ASH - for sure it is wild

Dave - I laugh everytime I look at this shot of me. What is the min. focus distance. I am sure it is written somewhere but if you know that would be good to know. Hoping the rain does not wash out the Sox game tonight (it does not look good) Ihope to get a few shots there.

Weather held out and the Sox got the win. Got a few shots but rain kept us undercover so not much time to experiment before the game. Ca I can tell is issue in some shots with the lights but can't wait to see the shots. Overall look good on LCD. Oh and not only Sox win but that other Boston team after a 10 year wait mAke the semi's a sweep did not think that would happe

Pat, it seems fun the way you have applied this lens to photography.

Once in a while, this lens reminds me the fun of getting a SLR first place.

Wonderful shots Pat. I knew you'd like that lens. Its #1 on my list for purchase now too (after renting it for the inauguration).

IMO, PF is the only weakness this lens has. It is extremely sharp, even wide open and at F8 it will draw blood! I've gone through a few lenses, but the 10-17 (along with the 50-135) will always be safe.

Thanks Mike, Max & Tim - Man now that we are being teased with a new body I may have to hold out on this lens RRRRRR or maybe get both. I hate this. I will just continue to enjoy what I have for now. Stay tuned for more Game shots tonight if I can get through them.

I've also noticed significant PF with this lens but when it is used in light conditions that favour it, it can be a lot of fun. Dave
