From Tair 135mm to Pentax M-50 F4 macro
Posted By: Igilligan, 04-24-2009, 01:52 AM

About 2 years ago I bought a M50 f4 macro two weeks before I got my Vivitar Series 1 105mm. Needless to say the M50 f4 lost out and has sit for too long on a shelf.
I just saw some pics from a S-M-C 50 f4 macro, and decided it was time to my copy on the camera. I had the Tair 135mm on the camera so I snapped off a few indoor shots of my youngest, then a shot of the M50 ( I always try to shoot the next lens, so when I look on the computer later I know exactly when and what lens I switched to)

The Tair 135

A shot of the Pentax M-50 F4 Macro by the Tair

Now some shots with the Pentax M-50 F4

And an ISO 6400 jpeg just for fun ps at ISO 6400 B&W is your friend

Original not all that usable... but it is Iso 6400 so what the heck

Both seem very capable lenses! Good shots also! Love the B&W version of the girl!

Nice stuff Gus.

I've got an M 50/4 macro as well. To my mind this lens is the real sleeper in the M series line up. The more your play with it the more you will appreciate it.

Thanks Timbo, I really need to put some time in with this 50mm macro, but once again the bugs are back and the 105 vivi is calling me...

Tom I agree, I think it is one that needs to spend some time on the camera to really begin to see what it does well.

Thanks again you guys for the comments. No one commented on the ISO 6400 performance, but I am pretty please with how well the camera did, even if I did not take such a great shot.

Brutally sharp. No other word for it. Awesome samples, Gus.

It's nice to find a lost lens isn't it Gus. Very good shots of your daughter. Well done.
