Macro with Marc Langille :) (5 images)
Posted By: sajmmiller, 04-25-2009, 12:35 PM

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Marc Langille at our local botanical gardens this morning. He not only shared some great information and tips, but he also put his FA* 200mm F/4 macro on my K10D and said "go have fun"! I was a bit nervous about using such a special and irreplaceable lens, but I did have fun. Thank you for being so gracious Marc!

The lens is amazing. The color, constrast, sharpness bokeh, and narrow FOV take macro to another level. The detail and sharpness at full size is wonderful. It was a bit windy this morning, and, of course, the lens is not as good in my hands as Marc's, so keep that in mind when viewing the following photos:

Marc, I think you've fueled my LBA in an expensive way! Thanks again, I think!

That are some impressive shots Scott with a not too bad lens. :-) You are a lucky man.

Looks like I won't have time to reply to everyone individually, but I'd still like to thank everyone for your kind comments! I'm sure Marc appreciates them too.

Some nice work. I find macro work the hardest of all, especially when you have bokeh in the background. It's not a natural way of looking at the world, so when you get good shots, as you have done, it is always a delight.

Good work, Marc is a good man to have around. I must get around to taking some more macro shots.
