First shots with the Tokina 70-210
Posted By: jezza323, 04-27-2009, 04:03 AM

I received a lovely lens in the post last week from deadwolfbones. A Tokina RMC 70-210mm f3.5 and i finally got a chance to take some shots with it this arvo. Went looking at the local park for some birds and such (not something i would normally photograph, so thought i might as well try!)

Here it is, all shot wide open (f3.5) because i was being lazy and using Av mode, lol

some bokeh

Final one is a total fluke as they flew overhead...

Thanks for the test shots. I don't have a tele yet for my pentax although I tried some of my old screw mt lens with mixed results. My telephoto shots are never quite what I envisioned so any good ones are accidental. I liked the weeds and the blackbirds overhead.

Really nice results for f/3.5, though the visible CA in the 2nd bird shot is a bit of a bother. (Should go away as you stop it down.)

The light in the second one is very cool, IMO. Looks almost like a flash shot taken at night.

Hope you're enjoying it.

I'm buying a car in the coming months (used, but still the same initial layout as a down payment on a new car would be), so I feel your pain.
