American Graffiti
Posted By: Sailor, 05-01-2009, 06:54 PM

Connie and I went with our friends Don and Laura (who own a '71 Challenger Covert S/R, 440 Six Pack, 4-spd) to their car club's informal Cruise to Fuddruckers. Here are three snapshots I managed to get (K20D, DA 21) at about sunset. I hope to do this again when there are more cars and a bit more action.

Graffiti? I was expecting images of tagging or spray paint art work on the wall.

Great shots of the classic American muscle cars. You don't see those everyday on the streets anymore. I love the reflections of the clouds on the challenger.

Love that first shot Jer - great composition! Somehow that one feels fast standing still.

Ahh some classic metal and chrome there for sure - all that was missing is the sock hop and the drive in resturant ... I can hear chuck berry on the am radio now .... nice series there Jer.

Thanks, much, for the kind comments. I've been a car guy (my dad's DNA) forever, and I love to shoot around these kinds of gatherings.

That's the Challenger - and it is fast. I sure appreciate your nice words.

The movie, American Graffiti, did such a great job of capturing the feel of the muscle car-hot rod era. In my home town, the Mug Drive-In was the cultural center of night-time cruising, and I loved hearing the sound of the Thrush glass packs on my Mustang echo off the building as I circled (with everybody else) the building.

Yup - and Suzanne Sommers cruising in the T-Bird. Thanks for the nice words, as always, Dave.

Thanks, JMR. The last one is my favorite, as well.
