Machu Pichu, Peru
Posted By: xs400, 05-02-2009, 12:20 PM

I just returned from a vacation to Peru. Here are a few shots of Machu Pichu.
As you can see in the pic, it was overcast while we were there, but we did not get any rain. The views from the area were just incredible.

Wonderful series Frank. Can hardly wait to see more. The last one needs to go directly to the PPG page! JIM

Fantastic!

Great series, Frank......and I agree about the last one. Definite PPG material. I know it would get my vote.

Very good series. You exposures are right on the money and your compositions are excellent.

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

I have to admit, this was a vacation of a lifetime. Machu Pichu is an incredible place. The work done by the craftsmen to build the community is almost unbelievable. One of the things I learned, the quarry for the stones used to build Machu Pichu was right on the top of the mountain where the community was build. Another thing I found surprising, the community was occupied for only about 100 years.

I took over 800 shots while on vacation. I will be posting more shots in the near future.

Great shots Frank. Lake Titicaca and Machu Pichu are #1 on our to do list.

The weather was fortuitous considering you lost your polariser.
