Sixties Sweeties [6 Img]

Here are three shots each of a couple of Ford sweethearts from the '60's. The first car shown is a big, black '64 Galaxy 500 fastback hardtop with the fairly rare 427 big block with 2x4 bbl carbs; this engine made 425 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque.

The second car is a '69 Mach I (much like the one I bought new in '69). Remarkably, that year a total of six V-8 engines were available in the Mustang (not counting the Boss 302 and 429 homologation engines); the car shown here is equipped with Ford's big block 390, which had 335 HP if memory serves.

These are the cars of my teens and early twenties, and always enjoy seeing well-restored examples like these.

ahhh muscle cars I love it. Love that 'stang .....in High School a friend of mine had a Torino (and yes painted like the Starsky and Hutch car haha) with a 429 cobra jet and hurst stick shift - it's a wonder I am alive today.

That Stang is nicely restored, looks very correct to me. Right down to the "orange peel" in the paint, which would be period correct. Very nice!
