New guy. - fair few images
Posted By: Coyote mk3, 05-03-2009, 02:46 PM

Well I'm new to this site, so I thought I would share some of my photos
I have been into photography for just over a year now and I am really enjoying it.
I'm still not too great at it but here is some of my better work.

I have a Pentax K100d super, most of these shots are either shot with a sigma 18-50mm or an old 70-210 Manual focus lens that dad had for his old film cameras.

Most have not been edited- only ones are the 2 red flowers, which i made the top right hand corner black so there was no light coming through and the other is the bridge in Petrie

Early morning in Gympie

Few flower shots

leaf

the odd insect or two

Bridge in Petrie somewhere

and sunrise/sunset and moon pics

moon1

Moon 2

Moon 3

thanks for looking.

Thank you Matt, and welcome to the forum. I like your images! It appears that you look for beauty where you can find it. We are all not blessed with glorious landscapes and picturesque scenery to photograph, we must, as you have illustrated, find beauty in our surroundings.

Thanks for the comments
I got a sigma 70-300mm APO lens in January, but have been a bit busy with high school and work so have not taken too many shots with it.
I have found it brings out much better colour then the old lens (which had mould on it). and I would love to take some of those images again with it - but that is a little hard.

(the only one up there taken with it is the pic of the butterfly i think.)

Matt, those are nice pictures and thanks for sharing.

If you feel like sending in some more, you could do worse than putting a few into the POTW (picture of the week) in the Mini-Challenges section whenever you get some - it's very informal, no judging, great crowd of people hang out there. I've learned a lot there, too.

Only been a year and a half

Well I haven't been into photography as much over the last year, however I think it is more because of time then lack of interest.

But I have taken more of an interest in automotive photography.
Possibly because of my beasty little xr6. Haha

Here are a few photos from a shoot I did at Mount Coot-tha a few months ago. Looking over Brisbane

Done using a camping light inside of a soft box and walking around the car/section.

All shot with K100D super with sigma 18-50mm

Will post up a couple of better photos I can find from the last year or so when I find them.

So, your opinions, criticism, comments?

Thanks
Matthew

The car photos could be from a classy manufacturer brochure :-)

Thanks,
I am trying to really get into it and organise some shoots with a car club I am in.
The only problem at the moment is I tend to take a fair while and am a little inconsistent.
This is partly the reason I take a fair bit of time, I take the same photo a few times just to make sure that I end up with one 'good' one.

This is a few of the other photos.
Not too many as I had my computer crash and lost a fair few photos and as I said I haven't taken as many as I would have liked for a while.

This photo was taken with the car nosed into the shed and the light was just coming through the gap between the bonnet and the windscreen. I was very happy with the outcome at the time.

note to self - clean keys first

Sorcha - lying in the afternoon sun
