This past Monday was Patriots Day in MA. USA. That means a few things in Boston, one extra day to pay your taxes, two Patriots Day game at Fenway and three The Boston Marathon Boston Athletic Association . This is my second year heading into the city for the game and to watch a bit of the run. So I figured I would share some of my shots from that day. Again, not the most artistic but wanted to share for those that can't or never have been here. All taken with the Pentax K10 and the Sigma 70-200 2.8.

To start the weather in New England has been nasty. Had snow on Sunday at my house and rain for about a day and half some places getting almost 5 inches of rain. No so pleasant for a Marathon or Baseball. But the weather held out for a few hours for the game and the finishers of the race ended on dry pavement.

I two hour delay and Fenway looked like this when I got there. DA16-45mm

But they uncovered the field and started the game.

Pitchers Josh Beckett for the Sox warming up before the game

Santana does the same for the Angels

Sox got the win.

The runners heading up Beacon Street.

Runners do this for fun but many have a reason.

Some are just funny.

How close does the marathon come to fenway?

About a block or so over. I left Fenway headed to the T and cut up Minor St. onto Beacon St.

I'd get them too, if they had Dairy Queen!

Nice shots of a city I might be going to this summer on the way to Maine.

Matt , you will love the city, I know I do. DQ is disqualified

ROE it is a great day to be in Boston. I have been twice and hope to go again next year.,

Thanks Pat for sharing. Boston (and the Red Sox) is one of my favorite cities. And be thankful you only had 5 inches of rain, we got 9! All the marathoners in costume reminded me that a good friend proposed to his wife in the NYC marathon. He had a shirt that read in the front "Hey Claudia!" and the back said "Will you marry me?" She said yes, and promptly dropped the water she was going to give him. I knew about it before hand, her expression was priceless, the crowd around me loved it. They burst into spontaneous applause and cheers.
Thanks for the shots and it does my heart good to see a Sox win.
