Bought a K2000 (KM) - First Few Shots
Posted By: Edicon, 05-05-2009, 11:45 AM

Found a good Canadian deal (C$500/US$410) and bought one.

After buying the sigma 100-300 last month, my 2 kids (6 & 9yrs) want to come along every time I go to the park for birding. Problem is, each one is arguing who can use my old but trusted P&S (Canon A610). Stress level has gone up every time I hear them in the background reminding each other "it's my turn", or how many shots, minutes, etc, the other one has left. The only solution (best) I can think of is buying a small camera but instead of another P&S, got a KM and let my 9yr old daughter use it. She's only 9 but a big girl (5ft) and the KM fits nicely in her hands. Now I have a small camera for travel as well. I don't care about the review, bought one and very happy with it.

Here's the first few shots I took with the sigma 100-300mm.

Lastly, we're all happy shooting together.

Thank you very much for looking.

All the best.

Anybody had trouble using the Autopixt mode, at night, inside, using the internal flash.

The shutter speed comes down to 1/5 or 1/8 and even with SR on the photos lack sharpness.

What is the best setting for taking photos as above.

Cheers.

At these shutter speed you'll need a tripod.
Does the flash fire?
What is the distance to your subject?
Can you give us some more information?

BTW, neither this thread nor the review you posted to are good places for your question. Try to create a thread in the Pentax Beginner's Corner Q&A and you should get a better response.
