Lorikeets at Portland Zoo (5 imgs)
Posted By: jsundin, 04-17-2007, 11:21 PM

I took my new DA50-200 to the zoo and found a wonderful collection of Lorikeets in a caged area. I have to go back when the weather is nicer. It was a bit cloudy and dark this day. Enjoy. They are all shot with the K100D and the DA50-200, I stayed at f8, but the ISO jumped to ISO800. There is no PP on these pictures. (And I got no poopoo on me during the shooting of these.)

Nice pics! I really like the back-lit beak on the second shot.

Awesome shots! Great color and sharpness. The lil guy in the 3rd shot looks like an old war general, looks like he has some battle scars on his beak.

Dig these shots! I especially like the last one with the two birds sitting together. I will have to seriously consider the 50-200!

Great shots! Lorikeets are such colourful subjects. It is too bad the lines of the fence are visible and a bit distracting in some of the shots.

Coulda fooled me - those look nice and bright, more sun and you'd have harsh shadows to contend with. The second and fourth ones are particularly nice.
