Yellow Flower Series...Cosina content
Posted By: mikeSF, 05-06-2009, 11:59 AM

Here are some Cosina 55/1.2 shots I took this morning in my backyard. I am assuming the yellow flowers are daisies unless anyone can correct me on that. The magenta flowers are a garlic plant. I hope you like these.

all shot wide open (to practice my MF skills in shallow DOF)

I like the narrow DOF wide open produces some nice bokeh well done.

#1 and 2 are my favourites - excellent composition. All four are amazing though. They convey a sublime surrealism - very dreamy.

i like what the lens does to the scene. This ground cover, even in bloom, is quite ordinary to look at, pretty dull really. the Cosina acts like a little magic wand. one of these days i should line up all the kids toys littering the yard and take some f/1.2 shots of them with the lens and it'll probably still look good.

most appreciated. those two are my favorites. that bluish wash of color in the background of #1 is a succulent of some type that is silver blue; i wish i knew the name.

Damn you! - I don't need an f/1.2 lens... Why on earth would I need one of those??? How dare you force me to buy one?!?!

Mike, those are really great! #1 is my fave, then #3... great "trippy bokeh" as Gus calls it.
