Got me a Hanimar lens I am liking!
Posted By: metroeloise, 05-06-2009, 07:45 PM

Using this one on my K100DS (greatest camera in the world) In some of the worse lighting. One club is the first one I know of that upgraded its lighting and made it worse! Shooting with the K20D there too. Swapping lenses with the m42 mount was more than I wanted to do in a club... Next time...

It is a Hanimar 135mm f/2.8 and it cost a song!

These are all with minimal PP.

Here we go:

1)

2)

3)

4)

5)

6)

7)

Thanks for viewing... C&C Please!

That's the one. I got a real good copy? All of these but the dog were under f/5.6 most likely 2.8. Will take out in the day and see.

Wish we had the ability, when we picked the mm for the SR, we could choose from a user defined list of our manual lenses. then it would be easier to keep track of what was who! even the ability to set the f/stop on camera (Wouldn't "do" anything but record that number for you.

I so want to see Much Smarter Firmware! (including a desktop program to interface with it) Such a great place to be innovative and even breathe new features into older bodies.

Have a bunch of such ideas... Will post later on...

LOL!!!

That's great...

Now here's something I'll form up as a thread elsewhere:

Out of all the manual lenses I have only one will accurately or rather actually stop down with manual changes in aperture. Seems like This one will only close down to 2.8 when metering regardless of the setting on the ring. Ideas? Is it broken? Is there anything I can do?

if its the same as mine, its because its an Auto M42 lens, if you press in the little button on the back of the lens does it stop down correctly?

what i did was carefully take the rear mount off, and remove the button thingy (its just a spring and a couple of little screws holding a bracket for the pin), and it works as a manual lens now

Yeah! This is good news. It does, and so do the others, have a pressing thingy on the back. Remove rear mount and the thingy and all is good to shoot? Looks like I have another project...

So all those were really taken wide open! Wow. Really like this lens and the Pentax brilliance that designed the mounting system... Thank you Pentax (It is one of the reasons I chose to go with it...)

Now more flexible firmware?
