1st shots with K20D switched from canon
Posted By: Studio20, 05-06-2009, 08:25 PM

quick shots taken in the house tonight with a few profoto strobes....Lens was 50-200mm Pentax.

Switched from a canon 40d to the K20D since the canon was constantly having focus issues and i just thought canons quality just wasnt there unless you used their most expensive lenses.....not all of us can afford that!

So far i'm glad I made the switch!

Nice shot. Note that the 50-200 is great for the price but not a top performer. If you shoot people you may want to look into getting the DA* 50-135mm some day.

i got the standard kit lenses for now but im waiting for the zeiss sonnar's to come in i bought those to do some studio work with, so in the meantime i got these as lightweight walkaround lenses, and they are 100x more sharper than canons anyday, i'd have to say its sharper than the 24-105mm L i had on the 40d, but for the 169 i paid for this lens im not going to complain at all......

I am so envious of you, I want a K20D so bad, but I can't afford even that right now.

If it is any consoliation, Pentax lenses are relatively cheap, whilst not inferior (I guess many here would say superior) compared to other brands.

I too welcome you aboard

Great shot... even better things to come I would say when some of the better Pentax portrait lenses are in your hands.

Great photo and enjoy the new camera. BTW, despite what people say about the pedestrian nature of the 50-200 lens, I've seen a lot of knock-out shots taken with one (I might have even managed one or two myself).

Yes, saying it's worth its money implies it performs as cheaply as it is priced, but in fact it is an excellent lens worth way more money than they're selling it for.
