A few SF Zoo photos
Posted By: Toshi, 05-07-2009, 03:09 AM

Even though I literally live across the street from the zoo, I hadn't visited in 10+ years. My brother had some free tickets so I finally went last weekend. Just a couple photos from that day.

Last one was shot through a fence.

Nice zoo photos you got here. The DA*300 lens is a great lens, isn't it? I almost kept one, but in favor of the F*300/4.5 for its smaller size

Wow, that peacock's colours are SCREAMING!

Colours and cropping are just right.

Thanks Frank. I love my DA* 300; I have a special attachment to it since it was my first step into pro-quality lens. I never thought I'd spend so much on a lens but I'm glad I did

Thanks so much Pat. There were a bunch of peacocks walking around the zoo but only when we were leaving did I finally see one displaying it's beautiful feathers

WOW, these are great. I shoot at the zoo a lot (have a 3yr old, zoo pass and live in the Sunset) but I get nothing like this. You would laugh to see any attempt at me shooting that eagle on that little island. hahaha, heck I do and then delete. I dont have any zoom really though in all fairness. Just carry the 16-45mm there mostly. Seeing what your doing makes me want a bigol zoom though.

The eagle and the Primates are really nice.

Love that gorilla shot. I'm seriously jealous of your DA* 300/4. Nothing like shooting at the zoo. Where else can you find so many animals in such a convenient setting? I'll have to go to the Toronto zoo and see what's shaking down there.
