LBA: M42 x 3
Posted By: betsypdx, 04-18-2007, 09:13 PM

Got myself a Spotmatic with three lenses and a variety of "stuff" - such as funky filters and a cool box.

So, I've tried out the lenses a few times. Here are a couple shots -

I always try new lenses out on "the lamp" - its gallery is growing .

First - the 28, 2.8 Kalimar - I think I only took 2 pictures with it:

Second - the Super Takumar 200mm/4:

Third - the Super Takumar 55mm/1.8:

Another 2 shots (of Max) with the 55:

Another with the 200:

Beautiful shots. I own the 55/1.8 and the 200/4. My normal default subject is my hat thrown up on the dashboard of my truck.

Makes you wonder why Pentax quit making the M42s.....

Always enjoy your "lamp" shots Betsy. Looks like you got some more nice glass for your collection. Looking forward to seeing more.

Went looking for your hat - but only found the hat band. Nice shot.

Thanks - another addiction to add to the mix. Almost bought more on e-bay but got sniped.

"photographic icon" - probably not, but I have taken a lot of pictures of it - only a fraction of which have gotten into the gallery.

Thanks - I think it's a great subject to shoot. My family thinks I'm crazy :).

I love the 3rd shot where multiple lines and edges interlace each other with converging and diverse patterns. Great lighting as well

Oh, they're never worth showing to anybody and they generally get deleted on-camera. I just do it to alleviate the boredom when there is nothing of interest to shoot outside the window. I do it to practice focusing, experiment with bouncing the flash around from different directions, practice guesstimating aperture on flash shots, get used to different macro tube combinations, etc.
