The look like keepers to me. We have some herons hunting in the pond up the road but I've never been able to get close enough for a shot as good as these. It is so hard to really "nail" the focus on fast moving targets such as birds. In my own sad experience maybe one in a hundred shots are spot on - OK maybe one in two hundred.

Thanks Tom. You are right about getting close enough to get a good shot. I find as long as they are hunting for food they don't even know you are there. I had to wiat 30+ minutes before moving closer. I could really use a 400mm lens for chots like these. I am still looking for that dead on shot with sharpness and lighting. I have been close but still not perfect. Cheers JIM
