A Lonely Broken Bench
Posted By: Scottnorwo, 05-15-2009, 07:56 PM

A bench from my neighbors yard. Flowers were nicely arranged around the bench. Tried BW conversion also. What do you think?

Scott, I prefer the colored one. Nicely done. Maybe a little brightening up would help a bit. JIM

I like the colours in the first one, but at the same time, I like the texture in the bench on the second one. I like them both.

It's a great shot Scott! And I'm a fan of B&W, but in this case I prefer the colored one. Probably the B&W could be improved by lightening the purple and blue channels? That causes the flowers to pop up.... (and what else, who knows?)

What a great shot. Particularly like the colour version as the flowers are lost in the B&W. Well done.

The WB seems to be a bit off at least on my monitor.
The wood slates on the bench have a purple cast rather than a weathered grey that I would expect.
Perhaps you intended it to be this way?

This a poignant image in both versions, but I prefer the color, as well. Some of the flowers that help "frame" the bench are lost in the B&W version. Either way, however, a very nice image.

thanks all. I have to get both images through more pp, but liked the results of a quick fix. Nice of the neighbor to provide a nice set up
