Yesterday, a newspaper of the region announced a large number of butterflies, the Painted Lady, is crossing Switzerland these days, going from Morocco to Sweden. The newspaper said this is happening each year, but this year, there are really huge numbers of them.

Well, as I went out of the house this morning, there were quite some butterflies flying around, time to make a few shots, all with K20D and DA*200

Wow, great shots Dominique! One of my best experiences ever was in the Drôme, France, where literally thousands of this butterfly wanted to pass a mountain pass. The severe headwind stopped them, so at the pass - only several meters broad - you couldn't see anything but this species of butterfly. It was wonderfull!
