Life is Wild
Posted By: Jimbo, 05-19-2009, 10:04 AM

Few wildlife shots from yesterday. The coyote was looking at the Heron trying to figure out how to get closer. The Heron just missed a shot at a fish. The deer was eating in a blueberry patch and the last one is a waterfall I also took yesterday. JIM

Thanks Mike. He was looking at the same Heron I shot the picture of. They were about 30 feet apart. I should have taken a wider angle to get both on them in a image. The Heron decided the leave right after I took the photo. JIM

Thank Joni. I wanted to get closer and shoot up the falls but the lens was already getting wet from the spray. I liked the way the water contrasted with the Rock. Cheers JIM

Jim! How do you do it? The closest I have ever gotten to a coyote has been 100 yards! From all appearances, you were within 100 feet!

Steve, I don't think he knew I was there as he was looking at the Heron. I agree, normally its tough to get close. I was less then a stone throw away and the Heron was about the same. I spotted the Heron first and had to back up my car to get the shot. When I shot the picture of the Heron I noticed the Coyote out of the corner I my eye looking at the Heron. A first for me. JIM

I liked this series. It reminds me slices of films of the National Geographical society which to me sometimes it is possible to look. The mysterious life hidden from the person, perfectly!
