Nile cruise, part 2: sunsets
Posted By: bymy141, 05-24-2009, 01:32 PM

A few sunset shots taken on the nile cruise last week.
The light there is so much different from the Netherlands....

Let me know what you think.

oh wow, great shots. i love Egypt and cannot wait to go back...i think i was sporting a Kodak disc camera when i went...

#1 & #2 are my favorites. that 10mm wide shot is lovely the way the water curls in the ship's wake.
also, i love the first felucca shot, really beautiful.
you have some dust spots on these images which could go away with some spot cloning.

c'mon now, dont hold back, let's see some temples and tombs.

Yeah, I know, Egypt is full of dust. Terrible.
The K10D is at the camera shop now to get a cleaning job..... my blower could not get it off.
I must get myself a K7, they feature ultrasonic dust removal. Tests show that this Oly approach works much better.

I did not do any real post processing on the pictures yet.
Except for the daylight sun/shadow pictures. I needed to fill the shadow parts.
There is so much light in Egypt, while people stay in the shadows all the time.

We experienced 40C - 45C in shadow temperatures.
On the sun deck on board temperatures got above 50C between 1 and 3 PM.
It was warmer than normal this time a year.
I'll post a few temple shots tonight.

For the second, you should have waited for the boat to be right in the middle of the light.

Nice series. It does very well remember my own trips on the Nile.
