A Hummingbird...
Posted By: heliphoto, 05-24-2009, 10:23 PM

I finally got my Tamron AF SP 70-200mm back from being serviced and today I had it in my inlaw's garden chasing my boy and stalking hummingbirds. I really needed my big lens there, so these are pretty heavy crops - came out nice though for what they are.

I went back today with the my tamron 400mm with the 1.7x TC on it, and got a few more decent shots...

Great shots, I really like the first of the 400mm shots with that red splash in the bokeh, the front part of it is a bit busy tho, maybe a crop to remove some of that. but very nice shots

The good thing is that after they're nailed down, they're so much easier to keep up with . These flowers are the next best thing to a hummingbird feeder... it's hardly playing fair - guaranteed birds .

Thanks Andreas - I agree about the foreground of that shot, I may have another look at the crop there, but I too love that background bokeh.
