DA 15/4 and the Careless Photographer
Posted By: Sailor, 05-25-2009, 02:48 PM

Typically, when sailing, I use my DA 18-250 to avoid changing lenses in what can be a hostile environment for that kind of activity. However, Friday gave us a day of moderate breeze and the new hasn't worn off my DA 15 yet, so I played around with it while we tacked down along the coast.

I can't believe I made such a neophyte mistake as inadvertantly including one of my appendages (see knee below) while I fixated on a winch and winch handle when taking this shot. When I do this with my funky DA 10-17FE I feel no shame, but with a conventional wide angle? Geeze, I am getting to be an old geezer.

Blame it on a drunken friend passed out on the deck.

Nice shot though. This lens is stunning.

Thanks, Peter - I did finally manage to take one sans knee. And, yeah, I feel the same way about the lens.

You should see the boat, Sugar. I labored for three days to give her a shine like never before - thus the tan.

Thanks, buddy. I think I'm going to like this lens if I can keep my various body parts out of the frame!

Well now that was too much multitasking - happens to me all the time the brain sets priorities - sailing , keep afloat, avoid hitting anything, drinking , drinking, beer, drinking, take a shot. Something had to give

She looks like a lovely lady there Jer - can always clone or crop the human part out.

Thanks for the kind words, Dave, and - yeah - multitasking is for the young, of which I am definitely no longer an example.
