The Devils Doll Factory
Posted By: codiac2600, 05-28-2009, 09:08 AM

Out from the door comes a dark angel...

She begins to understand her purpose...

Her wings shed and the temptress within engulfs her being...

Looking innocent she waits patiently for you arrival...

Too be continued...

These are stellar, I love the way you made everything red but the model. Only negative I can think of is that I don't like her facial expressions very much, especially her mouth.

Shots and model look good, especially first two, altho I can agree about the expression in the case of the last image. Also the first shot is the best and thats the only one where you have cut the feet so that the whole background is red, the others have a patch of non red floor in the bottom part

I'm not sure. I don't really like how it's all red, except for the model, but I'm not sure how I'd have shot it. First is my favorite, probably helped alot by the rim light. The halo of light around her dressed as an angel really makes her stand out against the red, which is often associated with evil and Satan.

Don't really like 2 or 3, in 2 she looks like a naughty kinky angel that would be invited to entertain at a stag party, which I think is helped by the tilted shot. 3 looks like shes lost and confused, fallen into trouble due to the red background being associated..blah blah blah. Plus her legs are too bright.

4 is a very nice head shot. I don't really get too much from this, but I really like the lighting in this....and I think 1 has excellent lighting.

EDIT: just thought about it abit more, the thread is titled "Devils doll factory", so 2 really fits in better with this set than I thought. I'm not too sure what mood you are trying to give off with this set, each picture seems to say something different to me, gives off a different mood. Maybe you could shed some light on the subject, and it would really help me examine the photos. Thanks.

Thank you all for your input, it's much appreciated.

The reason the facial expressions are the way they are is the whole idea of being a doll, a doll of the devil. Lifeless and lacking of higher emotion. She's fresh off the plant and it slowly gaining an idea of what is going on and what her purpose is here while under the power of someone or something else. I'm going to shoot this series in 4-5 sets to explore her change and it should make more sense after it's all pieced together.

She has way too much physical emotion to be "fresh off the plant"

It's possible to look at it that way, but it's tough to honestly know how much emotion is the proper amount

I think Shot 1 is the best, but I would have cropped the stairwell railings out of the left side.

I like the effect and look of your shoot, including the model and lighting, but be careful with a lot of those background shapes and lines behind her.

Wow! #2 is pure hotness!

The others are good, but that one really stands out for me. The pose, the framing, the lighting......just perfect.
