A rock + 2 Blurry Photographs
Posted By: little laker, 06-03-2009, 07:37 PM

I've had a little fun, with a K-Series 55mm f1.8 on an un-named camera over the last few days.
When I captured this photo of a Rock.

Although it was windy today I took the same lens out, and shot at f2.8, or wider open.
Capturing these 2 photos.

You've got to love the bokeh this lens can produce
I don't know why I rarely use it.

First two I like Stu - the last one the foreground is a little distracting for me. An 'uknown camera' haha post a shot of it, I am sure some here could identiify the species

I keep on wondering if your coming up this way for that ball tournament this year Dave.

In that last photo, there was a golden piece of grass between the subject.
Although it would have been so easy to remove I liked the effect it showed through the view finder.

I'm thinking of a shot, showing my mystery camera, along with a Pentax lens mounted.
When I do I'll post a picture

The rock picture is terrific, Stu. Doing a B&W fits this image very well - neat that you thought of it.

Thanks Jer,

in all honesty I shot the rocks with the full intention of doing a B&W.
using a little trick I've learned to bring up the contrast. So when I was done taking the shot i would have had a tough time bringing out the true colours.

I had the same camera / lens combo out again today, and I think that I got one or 2 nice images.
I'm stuck in the office until late, and really not feeling all that well.
but i might be able to post another blurry photo or 2 later

Very artistic, Stu. Good bokeh and some poetic twist to it all.

Thanks James,
I have the same camera / lens combo at work today. If I have any energy after work I'll be out having fun with it again.
I'd love to test some pancake lenses, along with the Sigma DP2, to see if I can achive a simular effect... without the bulk and extra weight.
(is that getting lazy or what )

Like the first image though I may have cropped the top right a bit or dodge it out. Water flow is very interesting and the B&W works well on this shot. where did you shoot this one? I am in the Okangan all the time on business and always looking for places to go. JIM
