Arctic Starflower

Thought that narrow dof (f/2.8) works here best. Tried also f/4.5 but the photo didn't have this kind of calm atmosphere anymore.

I will also upload a toned version from this photo soon.

Sigma 105/2.8 which is about to go to the warranty repair...again. :/

I really like the DOF on this one Joni. I agree that 2.8 looks like was to right way to go here. JIM

Love it, Joni. I'm guessing you used the Sigma for this one? I love my 105mm! Looks great on black too - well done.

absolutely beautiful. 2.8 was certainly the way to go, but then again one could argue that wide aperture is always the way to go with flower/plant photography. regardless, its a stunning image. great angle as well. you perfectly captured the beautiful shape and it really gives the viewer the idea of a 'starflower'.

Yup I used Sigma here.
It's a great lens but I have had some problems with the manual focus ring so I sent it today for a warranty repair.
I hope they manage to fix it and fast!

Beautiful shot, lovely soft colours. Well done!

While I like both, my preference would be for the mono shot.
