Roses with DA*55
Posted By: tcom, 06-06-2009, 04:18 AM

Here are two shots of roses taken today with the K20D and the DA*55.

As it was quite windy today, I opened the aperture to get shorter shutter times, and this does also reduce nicely the DOF, but the focus point is not always where I wanted because of the wind.

f/2.8

f/3.2

The rendering of the rose itself is very nice, bokeh is also nice.
wind is something I usually have a lot of problems with when it comes to flowers, they move so mcuh they disappear from the viewfinder alltogether

Yes, this DA55 is a fine lens, great color rendition, nice bokeh and great sharpness.

I am definitely not a fan of flower shots, but that one of the rose in colour with the black and white background is absolutely stunning.

Looks like we'll have to go to Van Dusen gardens when you try it out
I can attest to it's ability to take shots like this.

Great shots, tcom!! Liking the DA*55?

Thank you Georg.

Here are two more shots:

these 2 are killer shots Dominique, lovely color and on the 1st frame, the color stands out even more because of the dark background. They are worthy to be framed.

cheers,

Rene
