Snowy Egret

Finally got out to shoot some birds today. Here is a Snowy Egret I came across

All taken with the K20, DA*300 and Kenko 1.5x TC

1/1000s f/5.6 at 450.0mm iso800

Palomar: I always so admire your bird shots! My favs in this series are 1, 2 and 4.

NaCl(first one with the reflection is a wall hanger for sure!)H2O

Very, very nice. I shoot a lot of Great White Egrets so i can appreciate the excellent exposure you have on your shots. Big white birds in the daylight can be imposing subjects. Never tried to shoot such a high iso but never knew 1/1000s would look so good. Thanks for posting. I learn something new everytime i come to the forum.

Excellant capture. We normally have a very active population of White Eagrets around here on the Mississippi river back waters, but for some reason they have not showed up in any numbers. We had several Blue Herons over winter here last winter and are still in the area. jim

I was shooting this hand held so I really needed the higher shutter speeds (450mm hand held isn't always the easiest thing)

Tamed the shites nicely.
The use of the reflections works well.
