Aliens among us

Love 'em or hate 'em, yellowjackets (wasps) sure are industrious.

Followed by an artsy attempt at a dragonfly.

You are shootin' again, I am glad...

Oh the wasps scare me...

Did I ever tell you my wasp story... When I was eight, is was taking a nap in the afternoon. A wasp must have landed on my lip and I must have sleepily tried to brush off what ever was tickling my lip.

He stung me on the lip, the cheek and right above my eye!!!!!!! BAM BAM BAM my poor face swole up like a basketball.. I could barely eat, and my eye was closed for a week.

I do love the baby mantis

When I was eight, my cousin and I squirted water at a wasp nest, I was running down the street screaming while watching three of the little buggers repeatedly injecting me with their stingers.

Ha ha, they fascinate me. They haven't been bothering anyone yet. I've been waiting for a customer to piss me off. I could squirt some attractant for the yellowjacket traps on them. That might be murder though.

Yes mate, and it's getting bigger every day, the skinny part to the left extends about a foot, I don't know if that is their emergency exit.

I did think about getting up close with macro and flash to see if I could get a shot of the inside but then I thought the flash might piss them off so I didn't.
