Bombing Run
Posted By: Sailor, 06-09-2009, 11:28 AM

Here are a few stills from a sequence in the exciting new move, "Red Squadron Bombs Out." A few snippets of dialogue (likely to win an Oscar for best screenplay) are included to put each frame in context. Note that no animals were killed, abused or even mildly offended during the filming of this sequence.

Jer

Red Squadron, Red Squadron - this is Red Leader! There's a juicy clean, waxed target 20 points to starboard. Let's go get 'em boys!

Red Leader, this is Black Jack. Me an' Ace have got it covered - we're takin' some flak, but that sucker's history! They'll be washin' and waxin' all weekend.

Red Leader! Red Leader! Ace is hit, Ace is hit!

Red Leader, this is Black Jack. Ace is splashed - I say again - Ace is splashed. Send the chopper - Ace'll have to buy tonight. We'll get 'em next time, Boss

Thanks, Andreas - you can tell from this post that some of us old retired guys have to much time on our hands!

The pelican is diving for its dinner - these birds are stately in flight, but after they spot prey, they just seem to do a clumsy crash into the water - often coming up with a fish in their ample mouths.

Glad you got a chuckle.

The weather was magnificent that day, with pelicans everywhere.

Unfortunately, the Red Squadron's frequency is classified, so I can't reveal the number .

The Bay is simply filled with pelicans, egrets and other birds - along with more dolphin than I've ever seen here. Some are saying hurricane Ike is responsible by shifting the ecology such that more prey inhabits our waters than usual. Beats me.

Anyway, thanks very much for the nice comments.

Great series and catptions Jer - seems your retirement has opened up a new career . I love the 'Ace has been splashed' - gave me a chuckle this morning. I'll be sure to get advanced tickets for this obvious sell out and I assume you have secured the cast for the sequel and prequels.

Oddly, I found myself harkening back to Rob't Conrad and "Baa-Baa Black Sheep"

Great series and commentary, Jer

Hey, thanks, Jim. I almost banished these images to electronic oblivion (they're technically so-so, at best), but decided to have some fun with them first.
