Posted By: Unlocker, 06-09-2009, 05:09 PM

Took the K-7 out to the zoo on Sunday!

All these are taken at 400 ISO with the DA*60-250mm at F6.3 with pre-production firmware believed to be 0.35 (camera menu shows firmware to be 0.00!) in JPEG no extra PP except cropping.

1.

2. As shot

3. 1:1 crop of above

4. As shot

5. 1:1 crop of above

Thanks everyone for the great comments, it's really appreciated as I'm getting knackered since I've had the K-7!

I'm hardly getting any sleep, and probably won't get much more til the camera goes back next Saturday, but with feedback like that, it's worth the effort!

Excellent photos! The DA*60250 is certainly anther great performer. And the K-7, oh well, I'm sure most guys here would love to have it too

Um... O - M - G !!!

What comes to mind is there's this thread in the General section from someone complaining about a bunch of things, mainly centered around an expected influx of newbie fanboyz he expects to inundate this board; citing people already -- in his belief -- going overboard about the K-7 which isn't even released and only running pre-production firmware.... Well I may need to cast aside my cynicism, skepticism, and pessimism, and become an unabashed solidly middle-aged fan boy!

....And here I thought I was going to get away with my silent protest at Pentax for all the shenanigans they played with the 60-250/4 by keeping the wallet closed for a good period of time... But holy cow that's some seriously good quality there. Of course, that kit I'm drooling over here will cost me about what, $2500 USD...?

Really nice!

The K7 won't be within my means any time soon, but the DA* 60-250 on the other hand... hmmm!

It's always 90% photographer and 10% gear...

Very nice parrot shots, I like them very much and the parrot is cute. However, I cannot say that I see a huge difference between this lens and kit 50-200mm. At least not in good light conditions like this. I was more then happy when I realised I got really sharp and colorful photos on my zoo adventure with my 50-200. If you see a difference, tell me, maybe I' missing something...

Here are few zoo photos taken with my K20D and DA 50-200mm.

Now I realized I posted three photos, none of them with colorful background. Ah well...

Oh... My... Word...

Is this for real? I just upgraded to the K20 a few months back (from the K10) and now this!

I think I'm in trouble.

Fan-freakin-tastic!

At the very least that lens is a must have.
