Baby Hosta on a rainy day
Posted By: fevbusch, 04-27-2007, 11:08 AM

I shot this on my terrace (today) on a very rainy day. It's a young Hosta plant just beginning to unfurl its leaves. Used Sigma 50mm 2.8 EX macro lens. Iso 800 f4.0 no flash, spot metering, AV mode C & C are welcome. Freddy

Lovely soothing colours, and I love the patterns made by opening leaves. There's a funny blodge in the lower left with a little brown/orange in it, is that water picking up a reflection or something? It's not particularly distracting, I was just wondering what it was. Nice smooth bokeh, it adds to the soothing greeness of it all. Thanks, I needed that at the end of long week!

I really like this one Freddy. The greens are so vibrant, and I like the way the left side is in focus and the right side is that creamy bokeh. It's a macro/abstract mix!

Thanks for your comments, ladies.
Julie, the little "blodge" you mentioned was an ugly hole that I filled in a bit with Photoshop. I could have filled it in better.
Carol, that's exactly how I intended the picture to be, abstract.
glad you liked my shot. Regards, Freddy

Nice shot Freddy, great green colors. On of the things I love about spring is the myriad of green shades there are, and the lovely patterns the plants make when they unfurl/bloom. Nice vibrant shot.

Thanks, H2O. I got a little lucky with this because it was a lousy rainy, dark day.
The ISO 800 barely scraped thru. Regards, Freddy
