Just Fluff
Posted By: J.Scott, 06-12-2009, 03:41 AM

I know .... we all hate flower pictures, but this is a little different.

A small Dandelion gone to seed.

(K10D; Voigtlander 58mm Nokton)

slightly more depth of field would have been a little better in my opinion, or change the composition

...can't please 'em all.

Yeah, f8 may have given better DOF but might not have produced as smooth a background. There's always next time.

It is a 100% crop of a much larger image that had a lot of green bokeh area surrounding the fluff ball.

It was just for fun anyway.

In Ontario it is now illegal to use chemical weed /n feed anywhere so the Dandelions are really prospering this year.

.... and those of us with allergies are left to pay the price. It's been horrible since this ban came into effect. I feel like taking all my snot and collecting it in a barrel then pouring it on McSquinty's head. I never missed work due to allergies and they were getting better and better (with years of treatment) until this F$%^# ban came into effect.

Don't tell the lawn police but I have a half bag of Scott's Weed 'N Feed left over from last year. Shhhhh.....

My wife and I both suffer from allergies, too. I'm going to see my Doc next week to see if she can refer me to a specialist.

Every time I use the Voigtlander Nokton I am amazed at the definition rendered by this simple MF lens. It's just a hand-held, manual-focus shot of a dandelion. It looked pretty sharp to me, anyways.
