F* 250-600mm test shots
Posted By: Adam, 06-13-2009, 09:39 PM

I went out to test my new toy today! Sadly, the heat wasn't of much help, and most of the shots ended up being badly distorted, but at least it's not the lens's fault!

The 5th shot is an example what happens when you try to photograph through 100-degree air! The 4th is of camelback mountain, and the second is of downtown Phoenix.

WOW! This miracle of engineering thought! Quality of the image and possibility to "compress" space have shaken me! On last photo of heat, the BIG HEAT!

The FIRST pic shakes me. That thing should be in orbit around the earth looking for 2 billion year old nebulas or something. Someday I have to rent a toy like that for 2 weeks just to see how the big boys play. Nice toy Adam!

What a rocket launcher you have there - love the heat waves on the last shot.

its a huge monster, and a rare one. I havent seen/heard of many with the FA version and this is the first pics I remember seeing posted from the F version. Not easy digging one of those up on the used market

Nice Adam! Congratulations!

I've handled the FA* version, so I am aware of the weight... it's an awesome focal length zoom...

Ok that's just painful! To look at a beautiful work of art like that lens and know that the chances of owning one is like winning the lotto! when I was out shooting yesterday I ran into this guy with a Pentax 600 4.0 He also had a Tamron 500 2.8. He still shoots film and had two Pentax bodies. Very interesting guy. I gave him my phone number and said to call me if he ever considers to sell his lenses. I am sure he has a number of people he knows that would love his lenses! JIM

Try as I might I can't see any witnesses in the above shot. No jury would ever convict you!!!!
