My Son shoots Nikon!?!
Posted By: jsherman999, 06-14-2009, 11:21 AM

.

In between breakfast and mid-morning naptime on weekends, me and the little
guy (20 mos.) often go for a quick bike ride to a nearby park a couple blocks away
to have a snack, chase squirrels, splash in a fountain, etc... Tires him out and allows
me to take some idle shots of flora or whatever while he runs around. Sometimes I'll
take a second body with a long telephoto in case there's something interesting
going on, some fowl or fauna I want to capture. In my case, that 2nd combo is often
the Nikon D90 with the Nikkor 300 f/4 AF ED IF.

Getting ready to go home, after taking some neat snaps with the K20D/77
(ever notice how *easy that combo is? Anything looks good,)

I looked up to see:

I didn't stop him when he started to dig it out of the bag because I wanted to
see what he was going to do with it, and sure enough, he was trying to put
the viewfinder up to his face like he sees dad constantly doing. He tried several
times and made weightlifter noises each time - that combo isn't light. It was
hilarious.

I think he needs a K-7 and a DA 15mm limited, though - more his size. I'll
see what the wife says about that.

He is a very savvy photographer and is using the old trick of holding the camera upside down so as to stabilize the body against the forehead!

Jay...You have a prodigy!

Thanks all, the hilarious replies here had me chuckling...

Yeah, I can read him, and he wasn't in 'smashie' mode, he was in 'gotta try something here' mode, so I knew he wasn't going to pick it up and just drop it. Plus, if he had, it would have just slid off his body to soft grass about 10 inches down, no harm done.

And yes, he was looking for a button, and I think actually a preview button - he often comes over to me when I'm shooting and tries to randomly push buttons on the back of the K20D until he can see what I just shot in the LCD.

He's understanding the concept of photography more and more, and often pops up right where I'm shooting.

(note that all these shots were from the 77ltd, the Nikkor didn't make it out of the bag this time -
well, except for.....

What an adorable series!

It looks like it's about time for you to get one of these shirts for the little guy:

Here's the link should you actually want to order one:
