Part 2 - K100D, DA50-200 and Lacrosse
Posted By: jsundin, 04-28-2007, 09:06 PM

OK, Here is my second try at shooting my sons lacrosse team with the K100D and the DA50-200. This time, I added a polarizer to cut down the sheen of the artificial turf, bumped the shutter speed up to at least 1/500 and sometimes 1/750 and I had more sunshine to play with today. I stuck with ISO 400 and sometimes 800 on the shots, just to give me a slightly smaller aperature, while maintaining the shutter speed. So, enought technical mumbo jumbo, on to a few of the pictures.

All of these are straight from the camera, no cropping or PP has been done yet. They are JPGs.

I am sold. I really like this lens.

The first three are of his teammates.

Then a few of my flying son.

Wow Jeff, very cool. It's too bad that Pentax is totally inappropriate for sports! Nice clear shots with lots of action! Is your son #97?
I stayed away from lacross as a kid, too many big sticks flying around. I figured fencing was safer

NaCl(the idea of "safe" being very relative to a 12 year old!)H2O

My son is number 42. Black shorts with a green stripe. Big boy, he is. He did try his hand at fencing a few years ago and enjoyed it. But, he has now decided on lacrosse. Yes, it is too bad the Pentax is not good for sports. I have heard you cannot use it at high ISO settings either. I tell my camera not to listen to those bad people and keep doing what it wants to.

I have found that parents that shoot Nikon tend to be a bit aloof when I talk to them. Parents that shoot Canon have been more fun to talk to and will show off their camera. I have not found any parents on the side lines with Pentax.

Great shots, they show the action and motion very well.
