If they hold it ... they will shoot
Posted By: daacon, 06-18-2009, 08:18 PM

Went out for a Sunday drive to a local botanical garden - had my trusty K20D and of course the backup istD - I aksed my wife to 'hold' the istD with the Sigma 105 macro lens as I truked around ... well here she is 'holding' the camera

- and here here is the shot ... it was pretty cool to have her join in the fun

and you gave the girl an antiquated old *istD....???!!

Mate, you'll have to get her a nice new shiny K7....and she'll love ya forever.

Very cool.

I'm actually seriously considering picking up a K2000 - you know, just to have in the Jeep <wink>.

My wife has a keen eye but doesn't even like holding the K20 much less shoot with it, but I think she'd be hooked pretty quickly with a K2000 and a small prime - she rarely even uses the zoom on her P&S.

It looks to me as if she knows what she's doing, based on the shot she took. She also seems very cooperative, acting as photographic porter (a role my wife used to play). From what I've seen, you two guys must enjoy life together a great deal.

Thanks Jer we try life is fleeting and you have to make the best of it , we are both generally glass half full people, besides soon (I Hope!!) we will be empty nesters and ready to really be spontaneous ! She has put up with me this long that is a testament to her for sure :-)

Very cool Dave, The plan is working. Pass her the camera and get her interested. If the bug hits, you have a shooting partner. I've tried with my wife (using the *istD as well) but she's just not into it. Maybe cause I'm too obsessed????

Nice shot of the flower as well.
