35mm film
Posted By: Dr_who, 06-19-2009, 01:19 AM

I work in a projection booth and took this photo of the central part of the print as it's threaded onto its way to the projector. 35mm film runs at 24frames /s. 24 frames or 1s of film is 1.5 feet long. 90feet per min or 5400feet per hour so a 3hour movie like say Lord of the Rings was a estimated 16200 feet long / 4.9km long!!

p.s I hope I did that math right or I'll look stupid :S

The only flaw with this picture is that it's hard to tell what exactly it is. Otherwise, it's flawless.
