Very nice series. I really like 158. Very good fireworks as well. I've tried these and always been disappointed with my own attempts. The thread title had me thinking 'what the heck is this gonna be?' Something lost in translation

Hehe, nope, it's not a chair.

With fireworks I'm also a bit dissapointed. I was standing right below it, my mouth was full of ash. So yes, if I knew how to setup my K20 properly, I would0ve gotten much much better and more dramatic photos. I promise I will try to practice shooting at night.

My friend was shooting beside me with his Olympus SP-590UZ (very similar to Pentax X70) and he got better photos than me. He used his night fireworks mode. I was trying to find good setting in manual mode, tempering with ISO and shutter speed and the shots are not catastrophic but they are not awsome either.

Thanks for your comments nevertheless. Have a potato.

Hehe, thread name is shooting blanks cause these are various photos taken just because I had my camera beside me. Usually, if I forget to take it with me, I'm cursing myself when I walk around the town and see nice thingsthat WON'T be on my camera.

btw. you reminded me of a joke.

A guy comes into a gun shop, and asks for a gun, the gunsmith asks, "What's it for mate?" and the bloke says, "Oh, its just for shooting some cans in my garden".

The gunsmith says, "Ok, you can have a small rifle for just shooting cans", the next day the guy returns to the shop and asks for a machine gun and the gunsmith says, "Bloody hell, what sort of cans are you shooting at?" and the guy says, "Oh, Africans, Jamaicans, Portoricans, Mexicans..."

Hehe, he wasn't shooting blanks.

Btw. Croatia is the current world champion in fireworks presentations and here is a video of yesterda'y fireworks if anyone's interested. At least pale copy of it, considering it's just a small resolution video.
