Two flies with the DA 50~200
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 04-29-2007, 11:20 PM

K100D, DA 50~200 plus Canon 250D

While it is most certainly not competing with a dedicated macro lens it's not all that bad for a consumer tele lens.

Let me know what you think,

Heinrich

I think you nailed it Heinrich. I have always thought the DA 50-200mm was a great lens. some people think it's a very good cheep lens I think it's a good lens at less cost. I like the way this lens acts. the only bad thing I can come up with is on the DL with lens fully extended to 200mm it makes the camera heavy and I get a lot of shake
But again that isn't so bad not to use the lens. It's a good walk about lens.
when I see pictures like this it really tells me when I bought this lens I made a good decision.

Thanks for sharing

Yes, they look really great and i think you nailed it
I bought the Schneider Kreuznach version of the DA50-200, named D-Xenon SA50-200 1:4.0-5.6 and i must say i LOVE it.
Works like a charm

Yikes!

Your western flies are a lot bigger than our eastern flies.

Excellent job with the 50-200. Definitely a versatile lens.

How is it possible to focus that close with the DA50-200? My 50-200 wont focus nearly that close.

Hi David and thanks for the kind words. It is an amazing little lens, very light and does not feel like much but boy is it versatile. Thanks again and take care.

All the more remarkable that you get so much clarity, Heinrich.
That 50-200 dA is a gotta have for me. I'm afraid if I don't get it it will be discontinued some day. It will probably be the best possible companion to my Sigma 50mm 2.8 macro. Thanks for the show, Freddy

Excellent Heinrich, great use of the dof, especially in the second shot. It's not easy to do, I know, I've tried. I'd say just as good as a dedicated macro lens. Very good work.

Very nice shots, Heinrich!
I am fun of DA 50-200 + 250D. I understand very well the difficulties to work with a diopter. To see more, please look in my gallery.
Regards!
