Nice composition, but the subject does not stand out from the background as much as it should, as they are too close in color. You need more contrast separating the two.

Well, I have to disagree. I like the subtler and more subdued colours of the background and how the highlights stand out but do not overwhelm the statue. I must say a wonderful piece of work as your image.
