Insect macro shots (FA 100mm macro)

Some small fellows that I shot today...
K20D with FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro, all photos uncropped.

Nice shots. The first one is hard to see with subject and background being so close in colour. You certainly know how to get the focus where you want on macros. May I ask how you set up the exposure? tripod or hand held? f stop? As you can see from my Sig I have a K20D and a cheapo 100mm macro I just received and would love to cut my learning curve. thanks.
