You really have a way of catching people in a genuine way. The lighting is superb as well!

thanks! i forgot to mention that these were a K20d and DA 50-135 combo

these were my first attempts at portraits so constructive criticism is very very very welcome!

These are terrific, "natural" portraits - very laid back and relaxing. These shots make me want to sit around and chat with these folks.

lol. when scenery and wildlife was covered I tried to start working on ppl and it was good practice with 35 other students!

thank you! I had a question though. I find that sometimes people are a little intimidated by the 50-135. Is there another lens thats good for portraits but less intimidating?

Excellent first tries.

I had someone actually said "that lens is very intimidating". But they quickly get over it once they see their pics on the lcd. And then they want more.
